I hate to say ‘go a different way’, but if you are just starting I would recommend backing out of Home Assistant’s ZHA and installing a MQTT broker and the use the Zigbee2MQTT system. I have used both as well as a number of other zigbee system for many years now and hands down, nothing is better that Zigbee2MQTT. I get a bit frustrated when I see answer about ZHA as you see here, ‘don’t look at the map ZHA provides because it is no good’. What is inadequate, is that ZHA does not provide useful and/or valid tools and information. I think that you will find that maps, logs and other debugging tools in Zigbee2MQTT are valid and useful. That is what you need when you are building out something that is complex, and wireless stuff is complex. ZHA has been being developed and updated for far too long for it to not being able to deliver a more solid tool to us.
I shall look at that - aka put it in the queue. I am only using Zigbee to monitor some temps which is actually prooving less than useful - not that thats the fault of HA / Zigbee / ZHA etc.
Hope you find a useful solution. The temperature monitoring devices in zigbee proved to be unsatisfying to me, so I ended up with bluetooth devices for temp, humidity, CO2 and light level. These have proved themselves from the freezer to the attic, and in all the rooms and porches in the house.
