Zigbee dongle disappeared

At some point this afternoon my Sonoff Zibgee Dongle just disappeared.

Failed setup, will retry: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Itead_Sonoff_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_V2_2af95917863aef11bc2a301455516304-if00-port0'

This has been working flawlessly for some time now. I’ve tried unplugging and plugging in the dongle, I’ve restarted Homeassistant, I’ve rebooted the VM. I’ve restored HA from a backup last night where everything was working, no joy. Anything else I can try or is the dongle just toast?

I recently had a similar problem, but with the dongle P. I don’t remember what appeared in the logs, but searching on GitHub I found a thread suggesting re-flashing the firmware. That was the only thing that solved it.

I pulled the dongle out of the machine running HA and put it in a different Proxmox node and it was immediately recognized. I rebooted the original Proxmox node, re-added the USB dongle to the HA VM, rebooted the HA VM and everything came back.
