Zigbee dongle & wireless button - New and confused

I am trying to set up a wireless button using zigbee and I am running into issues. Maybe someone here can help me figure this out. For background, I am running Home Assistant Green and I just bought a “SONOFF SNZB-01P Wireless Push Button” and a “SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus Gateway, Universal Zigbee USB Gateway with Antenna for Home Assistant, IoBroker, Wireless Zigbee 3.0 USB Adapter(1 Pack”.

According to the instructions I am supposed to install the eWelink app and add a Zigbee gateway. I downloaded the app, but cannot figure out how to add the gateway to the app. And if I try to add the button directly to the eWelink app it prompts me to add a Zigbee bridge first.

Home Assistant seems to have autodetected the dongle and even the button. But I’ve tried setting up an automation using the button press on the button and it doesn’t work.

Do I even need to get the dongle set up in the eWelink app? If so, how? Or can I just skip that and work from home assistant directly? If so, what am I doing wrong that my automation doesn’t work? I’m just lost.

With the USB dongle you set up either ZHA (Zigbee Home Automation) or Zigbee2MQTT in HA, and connect the button through that.

If you want us to troubleshoot an automation you need to show it (formatted as code).

I removed the button and added it back again and it seems to be working now. Thanks for the help!
