For start I will say that I am a beginner with home assistant and I am not a computer programmer, so I don’t write things in code.
So, the problem that I have. HomeAssistant is installed to a HP Elitdesk 800 g2 computer (SSD 200 gb disk and 8 gb ram). Nothing else is on this computer. The Sonoff 3.0 USB dongle is connected using USB extension cable. This pc is in a separate room from my router and connected to router with a RJ45 cable. the IP is fixed. There are no other wifi devices in that room and I live in my own house. The closest neighbor is more than 50 m away.
At the moment I have 12 devices connected to the HomeAssitant - 5 Philps E27 bulbs, 2 Philips HUE switches, 3 Ledvance RGBW bulbs, 1 smart extension cord and 1 zigbee led strip controller (12V).
Plan was to add some more devices (fire alarm, door alarm etc.) but I have no plan to fully automate everything in the house. The main goal is to have about 50% of the lighting automated.
Installing the HomeAssitant was not a problem and finding the devices was not a problem and devices work flawlessly and fast if I switch something on/off from my laptop or Android phone in my wifi network (even from outside of the house). The problem is that automation’s don’t work. Even the simple ones.
Example 1: If I press one of the philips hue buttons to turn the bulb ON and the other button to turn it OFF (nothing complex or even time related). The result is that if the bulb is off and then after pressing the ON button the bulb only flashes once. If the bulb is turned on by myself through pc or mobile phone then pressing the OFF button will turn it off but pressing the ON button right away will again make it only flash. This happens with both switches and all bulbs (also with Ledvance RGBW bulbs).
Example 2: Smart extension cord is programmed to turn on at 15:00 and turn off at 15:10. At 15:00 it only makes one click and when it is 15:10 it makes another click. Nothing more happens. If I turn things on myself it works without any problem.
From the logs I find no errors that I can understand and I have installed and uninstalled and disconnected and reconnected everything several times. The mesh seems ok - all things are connected to it.
I doubt that the problem is something in the wifi network because things work when I do it myself and I test everything only about 3 m (and one wall) away from the zigbee dongle. At this point I am out of ideas and close to giving up on this system.
Can somebody suggest something?
