Zigbee Home Automation is listening continuously for new devices. How can I stop this?

Hello folks,

I have a problem with my new HA installation. I thought before, with reference to the documentation, that I have to set zha.permit to allow new devices to my network.

So my assumption from the documentation was

  1. go to Developer tools
  2. Services
  3. search for zha.permit
  4. press run service
  5. Service will listen for xx seconds until it stops again

I did this for the first time. But now I realized, that I dont need to do it. Today I just plugged in a new device (Philips Hue Iris) and it was directly connected and properly configured to use it.

How can I prevent this? To be honest I don’t want to have my network wide open to any device which is next to my home. I consider this as a security issue.
I haven’t changed anythins special. Just followed the manual core installation on my RPI 3B+.

Kind Regards
