I bought a few of these https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006452456332.html after reading on here that they are PIR and mm wave, so will lead to less false triggers (ideally wed like to only have people trigger, and not our giant cats)
Ive installed one, and while it shows the PIR, the other sensor simply says closed
Have i just bought another cleverly worded PIR sensor instead, or am i overlooking something obvious somewhere
There is nothing I can see on that Aliexpress page that would indicate it has mmWave. It looks like it’s just a PIR. “Human Motion Presence” is a pretty generic term, although I’d agree that “presence” is usually associated with mmWave and “motion” is associated with PIRs. So I can see where you might have thought it had both.
i can no longer find the original post where i was this being spoken about either. its strange that it also has the 2nd sensor though that states closed, so i thought maybe i was overlooking something
There is an “upgraded version” that looks exactly the same but adds mmWave sensing in addition to PIR, for 2-3x more.
