At the Aliexpress 11/11 sale I bought a Tuya Zigbee Smart Life Wall Socket . I have wired it up temporary to get it paired and test it out before I put it in the box. It paired fine but when I trigger one outlet it turns on/off both no matter what one I click. The touch buttons on the front work right to turn on just the one. Does anyone else have this outlet of know what I need to look at or switch to fix this issue?
Welcome!
I do not see you saying whether you are using ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT.
In reading the description info at the link you shared, there appear to be a number of different configs of this device. For example with and without USB power sockets. Unfortunately, when there are a number of configurations with some of the newer devices, the setup in either ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT may only address one of the configurations.
Whether you are using Zigbee2MQTT or not (however soap box on, I recommend this path for Zigbee and Home Assistant), I would have a read over at the Zigbee2MQTT discussions and bug reports at Github and see if anyone has run across this device.
Good hunting!
I am currently using ZHA. This is just the two outlets no USB. When I have searched I have not found any others seeing this issue on this product and when I search the numbers most issue are for a single wall plug not for the in-wall outlet
Looks like added to z2m https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee-herdsman-converters/blob/c361f9bf65992f1feeb57a46a1cd8ab8ea8dbdf3/CHANGELOG.md?plain=1#L75
They often share the same firmware, ie more than one device may serve up the same device ids.
As @nickrout points out, the changes in supported devices is pretty rapid (don’t blink ) If you are so inclined you can try and experiment with writing your own custom driver in ZHA, however back to my soapbox on, I would look hard at moving to Zigbee2MQTT, for the reason of many more folks implementing these new devices much quicker, and a number of other reasons from my experience with both ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT.
Good hunting!
Thank you both for your help. I am just getting started on using zigbee devices and replacing my WIFI ones for more local control.
This! (Get off that soapbox, its mine)
There are number of very smart folks here on this forum with 1st hand experience with various Zigbee (both ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT and others), do follow them. And regardless of whether you go the Zigbee2MQTT route or not, the discussions on the Zigbee2MQTT github forum and bug reports are highly helpful to your adventure down this ‘rabbit hole’.
Good success in 2024 with your home automation adventures!
So I got a chance to try this in Zigbee2MQTT and it does the same thing only one switch for both outlets.
What endpoints does z2m show?
it looks to be only one end point
I may be misreading this, but it looks like it should have two.
