During the pair operation should the device near the dongle? or it is enogh that it is near one of the already configured zigbee device?

During the pair operation if I keep the device nearby and then move far, will the mesh network connect automatically?
Or is it better to keep the device where it will be fixed during the pair operation (near another configured device).

Pairing normally works best close to the coordinator.
