Zigbee Repeater for Conbee II and ZHA

I was about to get the Tuya Zigee Repeater ( Tuya ZigBee Signal Repeater USB Signal Amplifier Extender ZigBee Gateway Smart Home Devices Smart Automation For Smart Life New - AliExpress)

But saw a post here saying it’s not recommended by developers due to network instability.

Is anyone having issue, or is this a safe buy? If not, is there a better option? I’d prefer a smart plug I guess, as I am unsure where I’ll just have a USB power supply. It seems to waist a wall socket.

They are known to blackhole non-Tuya devices if they are busy.

This is a better choice :

Better choices are a Sonoff Dongle P or E flashed with router firmware.

Thanks!
That one linked: So that works seamlessly with HA? No flashing and all that? Does it have ‘pairing’ instructions? I see the one I linked, you have to power on and off 3 times to pair it. Assuming the one you linked is easy as well?

There is a button, you press it until the red led is steady. No flashing needed.

Thank you. And you don’t need to install anty crazy software on your phone? You just add it like any Zigbee device within HA (I use ZHA integration)

No you don’t

Hi,
Just for something different, i use the Ikea Tradfri repeater with great success. Only difference is i use the deconz integration not ZHA but i can confirm that in my environment these have worked flawlessly for me.

Wow, so that works as a phone charger, AND a repeater? Also, no 3rd party software needed. Just (in my case) tell ZHA to look for new devices, and hold a button to go pairing?

I added the Ikea repeater and think I paired it. But nothing connects to it, and it seems it’s not connected to my Conbee II. Is there something I need to do?

It’s the oval-shaped thing with no lines connect it to anything.

Hi,

In my experience (with conbee2 stick & deconz integration) once your routers are paired to your zigbee network the end point devices themselves will eventually sort themselves out in terms of where to connect. If this is your first router then you could try to power cycle one of your end points in the hope that it will determine that your new router is the better option for connection. I guess that might depend on where in your house you placed the new router compared to the hub.

This is what my zigbee network looks like & just organically grew over time as i added more routers & end points.

Thanks. Power cycle an Aqara device means remove the battery?
