Zigbee smoke detector answers

Dear forum readers,

I have a short question, but I can’t find the answer because generally the topic deviates from the original question (i.e., no answer to the original question).

My setup: Raspberry PI4, Slaesh’s cc2652rb Zigbee USB stick, lastest release of Home Assistant.

I am looking for a smoke detector that meets the following requirements:

  • Smoke detection (naturally)
  • Reporting: battery almost empty status
  • Reporting: battery percentage status
  • Reporting: link quality status
  • The ability to turn it on / off via Home Assistant
  • Not too expensive (<40 Euro per piece)
  • Compatible with my setup

Does anybody has a recommendation for me?
Thank you very much!

There are not a ton of zigbee smoke detectors, and fewer that expose the option to silence the alarm. There is one that, at least with zigbee2mqtt, shows it exposes a “silence” option programmatically

It looks slightly more expensive at 50 euro, possibly you could find it less somewhere else.

If using ZHA, not sure if it exposes silence and all the other elements that are mentioned in zigbee2mqtt

Hi Tim,

Thank you very much for your answer. I will take a look at this option

Did you buy any of these? I’m looking for the exact same thing

Hey,
I’m using this one and it works ok for me. Link quality is low, but ok.

Hi Filikun,

Nope. I need 10 of those, so this is quite expensive. I’m still looking for a cheaper/good alternative.

Hi Burschi500,

That is also a problem, because my house is somewhat bigger. Or I have to buy a lot of them.
Thanks!

Best regards,

Hans
