I’ve recently hid 20x Tuya microwave sensor in the ceiling and they’ve been working great with my Z2M conbee 2. So I’m planning to add another 15-20 with the house extension in the near future.
However, I’m really worried that I’ll have to climb in the ceiling to pair each of them again if the the stick fails for some reason.
After some research, my understanding is the back up and restore of Conbee devices running on Z2M is quite challenging and not 100% reliable while it’s pretty straight forward on Phoscon.
Can someone with experience clarify?
Otherwise, do you have any other recommended setup to avoid the need to re-pair all zigbee devices if the system or coordinator fails? I don’t mind buying new gears or re-pair the existing 20 sensors in the ceiling.
Edit:
I really like the idea of ZigStar, zigbee over IP. My shed is 50m away from the house and I do have a Cat7 RJ45 from the house to shed. So in theory, I could add anohter Zigbee router/coordinator there.
Anyone have experience backing up and restoring one of these?
