Zigbee stick for Europe. Any available? Retain state in HASS?

I am interested because I prefer to change the Hue Hub. The most annoying fact is that after a power cut it turns ON all the lights … incredibly dumb thing to do.

I wish that with a zigbee stick, hass, I can retain the value (pi3 with hass is under UPS) of the lights and when the power is back on, all lights come back at their previous state

We need a zigbee device compatibility thread.
Both zigbee sticks and controllable/readable devices

What do you mean, “Zigbee stick for Europe”, or are you talking about availability in Europe? The GoControl QuickStick Combo HUSBZB-1 can be ordered, as far as I see, from discounthomeautomation.com ($ 36), and they seem to ship to Europe. That is the device that Russell Cloran tested in his all new native ZigBee Integration.

By the way, four days ago I asked Nortek, who’s subsidiary GoControl obviously is, whether they planned to upgrade the QuickStick to Zigbee 3.0, and when that could happen. No reply so far…

In Europe I think we have different frequencies

Correct in Europe (atleast NL) Zigbee is at 2.4Ghz

@anon35356645 (and @SebasT): discounthomeautomation.com cites the tech specs of the QuickStick Combo with i.a. “ZigBee Operating Frequency: 2.4 GHz”, and that is because to my best knowledge ZigBee does not have different frequencies in different countries the world over. Z-Wave, on the other Hand, has an operating frequency of 908.42 MHz in the U.S., but Europe uses 868 MHz. The Z-Wave part of the QuickStick Combo would certainly be waisted in Europe, but the ZigBee part should work just fine!

The Nortek stick is dual zigbee and zwave.
Its zwave that is regional.
Zigbee is 2.4ghz world wide, and hence Philips hue bulbs will work anywhere (assuming voltage requirements are met)

Shipping and handling cost are 104 $ if you order the stick from discounthomeautomation…

withouth discount how much is it, 200?

It’s not USB, but for a raspberry I’ve eyed this:

I’ve not tried it so not sure about compatibility but the price seem right
It’s from Amazon Italy, don’t know if available in other EU countries

It has proprietary api. And it compatible with hue component

Unless it uses EmberZNet stack via ezsp protocol it’s not compatible.
If you view the comments against the PR if GitHub for zigbee update it mentions that the Dresden units are not compatible.
Really seems to be limited to silicon labs devices.
Just wish we could get a full list.

This £38 SILICON LABS ETRX357USB+8M Zigbee Transceiver Module uses EmberZNet, thinking to order and give it a try. Will come back with results.

At de.farnell.com the long range version ETRX357USB-LRS+8M costs 43,37 € plus about 6 € shipping (Germany). Depending on the report you are going to give us, divdav, this is probably what I’m going to try.

Ah sadly I didn’t notice that long range version. I still haven’t had a chance to test this stick, works piled up. I’ll be sure to post back once I do

Any progress yet?

Also curious if there is a compatible for sale in europe.

To give an update to the use of the ETRX357USB

I bought one to test with and it turns out it cannot be used.

EZSP functionality requires having access to the full EmberZNet wireless mesh stack to be able to update the firmware on the dongle. Access to the wireless mesh stacks requires the purchase of one of the full Mesh Networking development kits from Silicon Labs

What other options do we have? As soon as I find a working stick I will post it here.

Is the software here a potential help?

Looks related.

Thanks! I did not find that myself
That looks related indeed. Now have to figure out if it can be used and how

Keep you posted.
