Zigbee Temperature Sensor flat lining on 32.59 degrees

Hello, I’m a HA noob and my 1st attempt was working with a Zigbee coordinator to a Zigbee temperature sensor using broker Zigbee2MQTT (Z2M).
However after a week, I’ve noticed the last 48 hours the temperature is stuck at 32.59 degrees celsius.
So I added a 5 metre USB extension cable into the computer, then the Zigbee coordinator into the 5 metre USB extension cable.
The Zigbee sensor works, but is still stuck on 32.59 degrees?

I have reset the Zigbee sensor with a SIM pin in its reset hold, but same results.
Please let me know any suggestions please?

Try deleting it from Z2M and then re-pair it. Try changing the battery.

Silly question, but I’m a little unsure how to delete a sensor. I’ll look it up, but it’s probably going to take me a while.

Go into the zigbee2mqtt gui and delete it there.

Ok, thank you. I’ve deleted but Dashboard shows the old settings.
I’ve re-added the sensor but Dashboard still shows the old settings.

Dashboard refers to the enitity. Either remove the old entities and add the new ones to the dashboard, or rename the entity in Z2M to match the old settings. Based on your screenshot I would rename all entities to match a friendly name and don’t use the 0xa-name. I myself use function_room so this sensor I would name it temp_your room. Then you get entities like temp_yourroom_temperature, temp_yourroom_humidity and so on.

This is done by clicking the blue button in the screenshot I pasted, entering the new name and checking “update home assistant id”.

Ok, researched how to remove entities.
These 2 old entities showed DELETE in grey. So I enabled the old entities, then they disappeared from Devices & Services.
However Dashboard still shows them.
I logged in via incognito and Dashboard still shows old entities.
The new entities were also in Devices & Services, I left them alone, but they don’t show on the Dashboard?

Are you using the auto-generated dashboard ?

Not sure, just the default Dashboard from HA 11.5. I think I selected a settings to ‘take control of the dashboard’?

If you ‘took control of the dashboard’, you have to delete the old entities and add the new ones yourself.

Well I found the old entities which were supposed to have been deleted and I deleted the sensor.
Delete was greyed out so I had to enable the entity and then the entity disappeared from the Devices & Services Entities tab.
However the old entities are still stuck on the Dashboard.
I see the new entities but there’s no option to add the new entities to the dashboard?

I’m on Home Assistant 11.5 → Settings → Devices & Services → Entities.

I searched around a bit and found this:
Home Assistant 11.5 → Developer Tools → STATISTICS → There is no state available for this entity. → FIX ISSUE → Entity has no state. This entity has no state at the moment, if this is an orphaned entity, you may want to delete the long term statistics of it from your database. Do you want to permanently delete the long term statistics of sensor.0xa4c1385ecf65906f_temperature from your database? → DELETE.
The Dashboard still shows the deleted sensors?

Fixed, by manually deleting from Dashboard.
