Zigbee (ZHA) unreliable: Status of devices not correct

I have 2 instances of home assistant:

  1. Raspberry Pi 3 with HA OS and Conbee II at 3 m USB cord
  2. Raspberry Pi 4 with HA running in a Docker Container using a Raspbee

Both instances use ZHA for managing the Zigbee devices.

Still waiting for my Home Assistand Yellows which still haven’t shipped yet :frowning:

I hoped that the problems will go away with the Yellows, but now I have the feeling, that those problems won’t be solved then …

I am using Ikea Tradfri Bulbs and several Aqara devices. In principle everything works. I can control the devices as expected.

But:
The reaction of the devices is unreliable. Sometimes the devices do not react to the commands sent to them. Lights do not change their state (color, on/off). Mostly they change to the desired state when I repeat the commands multiple times.
This is independent of the router the devices are connected to. I changed the pairing from one of the Ikea Bulbs back directly to the controller - no luck.

I optimized installation 1) for frequency usage: WiFi on channels 1 and 12, Zigbee on channel 15 to minimize Interferences. The Conbee II is 3 meters away from the raspberry and within 4-5 meters to the next Ikea Bulbs it is supposed to control (with one brick wall between them each …) So normally everything should work.

I have grouped the bulbs in Zigbee groups and control the groups - should be the optimal strategy(?)
But when I check the states of the bulbs the states are usually all over the place. Some bulbs are reported on, some off, some have one color temperature other another …
When I directly check the state of one of the bulbs via the zigbee clusters, I get back the correct state of the bulb. But even then the state reported in HA only changes sometimes to the correct state.

The other installation has a similar behaviour - but as the Conbee II behaves the same, the problem can not be the old Raspbee …

So how can I create reliable automations and scenes when the state of the devices is not changed realiably?

Would changing to Z2M be a solution?

TIA
