Not sure why but now my zigbee2mqt fails to start after reboot
Using Smlight slzb
Zigbee is set to start on boot but many times when restart HA the zigbee2mqt needs manually starting
Any Ideas how to set this, is there a way to start after set time after reboot / restart
So this switch is on?
Restarting HA does not shut down add-on containers, they keep running.
Rebooting the host hardware shuts everything down, HA core, supervisor, add-ons, etc…
If that is what you are doing you should not be. The only time you need to reboot, instead of restart is when Home Assistant Operating system is updated. At all other times, including Home Assistant core updates, you should only need to restart, not reboot.
Hi Thanks for the reply
as mentioned, I have already set "Zigbee is set to start on boot "
usually I just do the restart home assistant, on some occasion there is a need to power off or reboot the server, the power here is not so stable so the pc will be restarted after power loss or if there is a power spike. thinking to get a small UPS to get around this issue.
after this the zigbee2mqt fails to startup again (not always but most times)
is there a way to delay zigbee startup. thinking the Smlight slzb is slower than the pc to restart after power loss
regards
Yes, I quoted you saying that. I was asking for clarification we are talking about the same thing.
So we are talking about the add-on failing to start at boot, not restart.
I opened a similar issue for this ages ago. It was ignored.
Which version of Home Assistant are you on?
A small UPS would be a good idea. Make sure it has enough capacity to hold up your HA server and your network equipment.
I am using HA Version
- Core 2024.11.3
- Supervisor 2024.11.4
- Operating System 13.2
The UPS I am looking at would hold open the mini PC with HA & some network items for about 20 minutes
If for some reason this is not enough I want to find some way of ensuring zigbee2MQT is running, not much experience with scripting so maybe looking for some software to run extra features like power on the Smlight slzb or restart zigbee2mqt
