Recently got a zigbee network, i set it up originally using just normal zigbee but want to transfer over to zigbee2mqtt but upon plugging the zigbee coordinator to my pc and usb passthrough to my home assistant through proxmox. the coordinator says its designed for zigbee2mqtt so i dont think thats it. it shows up under hardware and i have its address. when i try to get it working with zigbee2mqtt it says failed to start and couldnt connect to it. any ideas on what im doing wrong and what logs you guys need to help? is there something in configuration im missing or maybe i passed through wrong even through wrong (normal zigbee works when i tried it but i deleted it after testing so it wouldnt interfere)
zigbee2mqtt logs would be nice…
i posted them
i also tried the USB connection /dev/ttyUSB0 which is a copy from the hardware specs in home assistant. i used the serial port code in the configuration code.
Hi
Do you have MQTT installed, running, and connected to Zigbee2MQTT?
Is it a 2531 controller?
And this…
By ID is better (as it will be consistant during reboots/re-installations )
And your statement is a bit confusing; did you use the hardware-ID from HA’s hardware specs?
If you look at settings/system/hardware/all_hardware
http://:8123/config/hardware
F.e.:
(Ofc this is mine, you should use yours; you can copy/paste the info from there)
So this is the config of Z2M:
port: >-
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-dresden_elektronik_ingenieurtechnik_GmbH_ConBee_II_DE2481787-if00
i think so, i have mosquito broker installed. does that work?
ill do that.
and i used both the physical port destination and the device id or whatever the technical term is
Yes, it has to be installed and you have to give Z2M a password and login to connect to it.
