Zigbee2mqtt unsupported device TS0504B

Hi,

I added a led controller via zigbee2mqtt. It got recognised as TS0504B but it is unsupported. In the device list on zigbee2mqtt.io this device is mentioned in the supported list Tuya TS0504B control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT

@Koenkk has this device been added recently and is the homeassistant addon of zigbee2mqtt not updated yet?

Or do I have to add this device manually?

I tried following the instructions under “support new devices” on zigbee2mqtt.io. But I got stuck because in the home assistant addon I dont have the option to generate an external definition. Or am I missing something?

Hope someone can help me out, cheers!

Can you point out where there’s a record of it being added recently?

Because according to Zigbee2MQTT’s record of Pull Requests, support for the TS0504B was first added 3 years ago.

Okay, the search result in google showed the page was added 5 days ago. Probally was edited resently.

Then I still dont understand why it shows up as unsupported then?

Could it be I it was recognised wrong? The manul says the model number is C04Z

What page?

If you’re referring to the documentation page, the date at the bottom of the page indicates the last time the page was modified.

Possibly.

Either too far away from the coordinator or router, or just didn’t like the interview. Remove and repair.

I added the controller next to the main zigbee router and the interview was completed.

I solved it, I installed the dev version of zigbee2mqtt and rebuild the whole network from scratch (good fun…). The controller got recognised correctly this time

I’ve had that same model supported and working for the past 2 years.

Worst case scenario, yours had a different Zigbee Manufacturer ID (extremely common with Tuya) and you just needed to wait 3 more weeks for that to be released into the main branch.
