Take it easy on my this is the first time I have really dug in deep into HA with anything other than point and click and googling or searching on this web page is tough since so many posts or instructions are quite old and outdated.
I have tried for hours over the past 3 days to get Zigbee2MQTT working on my HA green. I have a Sonoff USB 3.0 on ZHA locally on my HA Green and I have a SLZB-06 in anoher portion of the house actually the basement IT room plugged into the router via POE. I want to have my Sonoff 3.0 on ZHA and my SLZB-06 running Zig2MQTT. I have followed all the instructions I could find on YouTube and also searched the documentation and no luck. When I try to open the Z2M UI it tells me 502 Bad Gateway. My brain is mush now from trying so many different things and even deleting mosquito and MQTT several times and starting from scratch.
I can access the SLZB-06 via it’s IP address and all looks fine but it does not show as active in the corner for Z2M/ZHA. I have cut and pasted the config file as asked in the UI to HA using the YAML editor. I get the feeling it’s a closed port, I have never dug into HA this deeply, I have googled the docs for ports and such and do not see any instructions as to where to go to to check if HA has the ports open.
I don’t know what happened but it needs to happen more often. I got up to go to the bathroom, then got sidetracked and started pulling over 400ft of mule tape in conduits outside on a front yard renovation where I am planning power. Went to get some supplies at the hardware store had dinner and just sat down and BOOM… Have not messed with it yet but I will give it a shot tonight and add one of these that I have working in ZHA but get zero features/settings.
Looking a bit deeper and it seems the Z2MQTT took over 20 minutes to come into service. My guess is I was a bit impatient once I started making progress. I know I was all wrong in my settings the first day or two but after a lot of research I got closer or the actual settings right and just did not think the UI would take over 20 minutes to come into service. :-o
Negative not the SLZB GUI but the Z2MQTT UI page in HA. A little more tinkering and i got my PIR sensor configured last night. I will need to dig in deeper today on all of its various settings.
Not yet…family at church and I am watching 2 high energy working dogs till they get back. If i dont they will distroy the house or each other! I am just happy its working and did not knock my ZHA network off line. I will chexk the config page but i am no expert at this have only messed with HA since September or late August. I am very green to this and not a programmer. Basic linux/sun skills for work but thats about it. My knowledge base is RF and electronics in the cellular industry. I can bouce a signal off the moon literally or repair radios and police radar but programming is weak on my end.
