ZME-UZB1 not showing within Hyper-V HA Zwave JS Plugin?

Hi,

I have an old ZME-UZB1 Zwave controller USB key which I have plugged into the PC and installed the driver (it shows as “UZB (COM2)” within the devices list of windows under Ports (COM & LPT) and not as a USB device.

On the PC I have installed a Hyper-V instance on HA. I have installed the ZWave JS plugin, however when going to select the the device from within the ZWave JS plugin it does not list it. Nor is the device listed within the detected hardware.

Hyper-V is set to passthrough host devices so not sure why I cant see it in HA.

Anyone any ideas of what I need to do to see it?

If all else fails I will order a new 700 controller but dont want to do that if I dont need to or I will have the same problem.

Thanks in advance!

I don’t believe Hyper-V supports pass-through of USB serial devices. You would need a third-party solution, such as serial over IP, to use it.

Many thanks. I will try virtualbox. Cheers.

On another note, can anyone tell me if there is any material benefit to purchasing a 700 series controller such as the Aeotec over the one I have (I have had it laying around gathering dust a few years but always previously worked when I had it on bare metal.
