Hi all, just got this zwave stick delivered today and trying to install. I’m using home assistant os 6.4 core-2021.9.7 if it matters in a KVM VM on Unraid. I passed through the USB to the VM which HA recognized the first time, and gave me an option to enable the zwave js integration. Clicked “enable” and it took me through a couple of steps … then failed. Now it doesn’t recognize the stick and fails when I try to manually add the zwave js integration… I’ve tried with and without the supervisor add-on and get “failed to connect” each time.
I’m 2 days into HA, so talk to me like I’m 5 please. I’m pretty tech savvy, but this is all brand new to me.
I set up this way because i wanted to test drive HA before committing to a separate device… been less than happy with the delays and seeming holes in Hubitat since I bought into it a month ago.
I have a different setup, but use a Zooz stick. Something to try, a different USB port. I had issues connecting to mine at first and found that for whatever reason, a different USB port was the answer.
It also might have been my impatience. I’ve rebooted a couple of times and it seems to always take a minute or so to initialize zwave… But either way now it works
I’m having a similar issue, but on a Raspberry Pi – I plug in the ZST10 stick and nothing shows up under /dev nor in the supervisor’s Hardware list.
I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong with the USB host controller; will try plugging in other devices.
One thing that’s suspicious: the photos and videos I’ve seen of the Zooz stick, all feature a small power LED; mine does not. Although the stick came in a nicely printed box with a small instruction booklet that seems accurate and refers me to Zooz’ site, I’m wondering: could I have purchased a counterfeit stick from Amazon?
