ZOOZ ZEN04 Momentary on off

I have a ZEN04 smart plug controlling the power to a radio. It turns on and off when it is scheduled to. But it also randomly turns on and off just long enough that the radio turns on. Freaked me out the first time late at night when I heard a fragment of a word being said. I was alone. It happens at least three times a day while I am home and able to notice it.

Is this a common thing for these plugs? Is it maybe the scheduler card?

ZEN04 should not have done that (on and off) on its own.

Next time when this happens, check 3 things:

  1. Check the logs / history / device activity and see if you have any automation kick in at the time, or any command coming from HA…
  2. Check the same, and see whether the status of the plug go unavailable and back to off? does the status graph pick up the on-and-then-immediately-off event?
  3. Next you go to the z-wave device itself, and see if you have any auto-on or auto-off timer, or power recovery setting on the ZEN04 - essentially parameter 2 to 4.

If nothing notable from the #1 and #3, I’m thinking you either have an unstable power grid, or a faulty ZEN04. Obviously you will need to find out the root cause.

Thanks for the advice.
Sometime in the last few updates the issue resolved. No more creepy whispers.
