So the original zwave 2.0 version of the zen30 still works fine in the zwavemqtt integration using a z-stick 5, but the new 3.0 version does not. Instead, upon inclusion, HA assigns 2x binary switches, one appears to be able to control it, and the other appears to correctly report the state, these should be combined into a single item. I tried excluding and re-including, re-interviewing, power cycling, everything. 3x units all behave this exact same way. So there must be something wrong with the driver?
I was looking at getting one of these switches and saw your post. Have you found any resolution to this? Any chance zooz support was of any help?
same issue here. raising a ticket with zooz to see what they say
RESOLVED
It’s finally fixed! From what I can tell, the problem was never with ZooZ? As of HA version 2022.9.2 and zwavejs2mqtt: 7.1.0 zwave-js: 10.0.4, newly added dual Device switches worked as expected: 1 binary switch for the relay, and 1 light for the dimmer, both local feedback and HA issued commands are updated to the same device ID. From what I can tell, they updated the drivers.
NOTE! performing this update does not fix the zooz devices already added, I had to properly exclude them from the z-stick, then re-add them. I was able to do this in one action though; basically shutdown HA, take my stick up to the offending switches, exlude 1, exclude 2, pair 1, pair 2, plug the stick back in, start up HA. After a few min, it automatically removed the excluded devices, so I only had to rename the newly found devices to the original names in order to bring everything back to normal.
NOTE2! Even though these are z-wave PLUS devices, I can never get the long distance include and exclude to work. Aeotec keeps telling me their new sticks dont need a push button because they work at great length. Well it never works, I always still have to be right beside the devices.
I came here thinking was going to have to start a new thread… but i think i am having the same issue…
Adding my zen30 switch was nearly impossible. After finally getting it added, the switch goes unavailable every day after about 8-10 hrs… i do a ping from the interface and the switch pops right back online… whileits online, it works flawlessly and then it just drops.
I have many other zwave switches nearby (at least 3 within 15 ft). so frustrating.
So it sounds like one more exclude and re-add … i can live with that if it solves the issue.
Although no MQTT for me, only ZwaveJS…
So far an excluson and inclusion seems to have fixed my issue after updating the lastest version as mentioned earlier in the thread
Still having issues but it does to be less frequent
