Zooz ZSE29 - S2 OUTDOOR MOTION SENSOR

I just added my new outdoor sensor to HA and it is not recognized.

Entity IDs:

zwave.zooz_unknown_type_0001_id_0005
sensor.zooz_unknown_type_0001_id_0005_alarm_level
sensor.zooz_unknown_type_0001_id_0005_alarm_type
sensor.zooz_unknown_type_0001_id_0005_burglar
sensor.zooz_unknown_type_0001_id_0005_power_management
sensor.zooz_unknown_type_0001_id_0005_sourcenodeid

It is listed in the openzwave files on Github.

What version of HomeAssistant? HassIO? Docker? Virtual Environment?

Only for OZW 1.6, not OZW 1.4.

I’ll paste an answer I posted elsewhere:

The only things you are missing are 1) the vendor and product name and 2) the group 2 associations for PIR control. The ZSE29 apparently has no Z-Wave configuration options, settings are on the device itself.

If you need PIR control via group 2, you’ll need to create a new config file in the OZW 1.4 format. You can reference the other zooz xml files for reference.

The device will function fine without having the names. You can update the entity and friendly names in HA using the entity register.

Home Assistant 0.96.2 on Synology Docker

Looks like I will have to wait till python-openzwave will be updated to version 1.6

I can edit entity names for now.

I was thinking of getting this sensor. Any update on HA support? Also how good is it at preventing false positives?

Any update here ? It looks like a great sensor!
