ZW-100 showing high negative temps

I recently decided to try Z-Wave after finding some neat multi-sensors. Installed the new Z-Wave JS and Z-Wave JS to MQTT integrations and imported the devices with no issues. And the tampering and motion detecting seem to work fine. However, temp is showing -5,866.2 F and the humidity is showing -1.0%. I have looked around and found some references to it happening but not staying there consistently. Where mine are stuck there and never change.

Anyone have any ideas on what may causing this? I have two of the devices and both are showing the same issue so unlikely they are broken, and I have updated the firmware to the latest.

Any ideas on what I should check next?

Thanks!

First, I am not following “Installed the new Z-Wave JS and Z-Wave JS to MQTT integrations”. There is no Z-Wave JS to MQTT integration. To use Z-Wave JS to MQTT, you should install the Z-Wave JS to MQTT add-on. If you have any other Zwave add-ons installed, make sure that they are turned off/not running (with restart of the host if needed). You then install the Zwave JS integration and when doing so, uncheck the box about installing the official Zwave JS add-on and have the integration use ws://a0d7b954-zwavejs2mqtt:3000

Second, I recently got two ZW100s from Amazon. The luminance sensor was broken on one with it continually reading -32768. The other one had a similar issue but removing the device as a node on Zwave, factory reset and re-adding fixed that one. I emailed Aeotec support and they told me to return the device as it was defective. So I processed an exchange for both with Amazon (not knowing if the other one would stop working) and thus received two more. One of those replacements had the same luminance sensor defect showing -32768 continually. So of 4 units received, only two of them worked properly.

This is new to me. I’m using ZWaveJS2MQTT with ws://localhost:3000 and its worked fine??

They may be one in the same but the link I provided is directly from the instructions in the Z-Wave JS to MQTT add-on documentation.

ZW100 is working fine for me with Z-WaveJS. There have been a number of firmware updates for this device, so check the Aeotec website.

I saw that as well. Looks like its from the install docs from ZWaveJS2MQTT, but I can’t find it.

Ok, I am still new to the whole HA and even newer to Z-Wave. I just installed it and use Z-Wave JS with Z-wave JS to MQTT as a UI only. Me stating Z-Wave JS to MQTT integration is just showing my newbieness.

Understand about the defective lux sensor and that I could very well have two defective units based on what you have seen with yours. I will try excluding them and doing a factory reset.

Thanks
