Zwave 500 VS zwave 700/800

Hi

Has anyone seen a big difference between zwave 500 and zwave 700/800?
Does it really consume less energy?
Lang range isn’t that important for me, as my network is quite large.

What big changes have you noticed?
Does the module handle the 700/800 protocol well? Or are there still bugs?

For this device i will just change the battery after 10 years ??
currently i am to change it every years

Thank you!

I think that it depends on the number of Zwave devices you have and where they are placed.
I have some 60 Zwave devices and the 800 Series dongle did not make a noticeable difference.
This being said I am an early adapter of new technology and gradually I replace all my 500 devices (not many left) with newer 700 or 800. But as mentioned, if you have a good existing Zwave mesh, then an upgrade to 700 or 800 is not crucial. I do however recommend that any new device that you buy is with the latest technology.

does the 700 / 800 really require less energy from the batteries?
you dont have any problem like that ?

I have not really measured this but it appears to be true that batteries last longer.

thx and do you have more stability problem with the 800 ? (As the 500)
because a understand that a lot of people said that it s better to stay on 500, the 700/800 has too much bug …

My 800 is very stable. Some have issues with the firmware upgrades and that is why I stayed with the firmware it came with.

what do you mean witch device do you have for the 800 ?

Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range S2 USB Stick ZST39 LR

I’m not aware of any user reported issues with devices using 700/800 series chips. There are issues when using 700/800 USB sticks.
