ZWave Association not working on Fibaro Dimmer 2 when triggered from app/dashboard

After my Fibaro HC2 broke down, I switch to HA. Best decision ever. I can achieve so much more now. One thing I cannot seem to get working is the following:

I have a switch in the kitchen (Fibaro Dimmer 2 - Main) that controls two other Fibaro Dimmer 2s (Lights) to turn on lights in/below some kitchen closets via association. HA also reacts to this with an automation to turn on some Hue lights in the kitchen. This all works fine when I physically press the button attached to Main.

It does not work when I use the HA App/dashboard to turn on/off the Main dimmer. In this case, the HA automation reacts and turns on the Hue lights, but the other Lights dimmers, that are connected via association, do not react.

Does anyone know what I am missing here?

Associations often don’t trigger from Z-Wave commands, they are meant for physical activation. Some devices have configuration options to enable this.

From the looks of it Fibaro Dimmer 2 switches do not offer a setting to enable this.

Probably need to use an automation to turn on the other dimmers when I turn the lights on without a physical button. Does anyone know how to make a script that only runs when no physical button is clicked?
