Hi,
After recent firmware update for ZWave devices, vast majority of nodes lost their respective HA binding/name and device type and related functionality. All of those are Shelly Qubino Wave Shutters, and the firmware was updated from 12.23.0 to 14.2.0. Update was pushed via HA (I just accepted the proposed firmware update notification in HA).
After the update I had to manually update all related nodes/devices and set their e.g. name, area and labels. Also, shutters/blinds controls were no longer present in UI for the old devices. Re-interviewing did not help. I also tried to force remove the old devices, but that results in “zwave_error: Z-Wave error 360 - The node removal process could not be started because the node responded to a ping. (ZW0360)”, which makes sense given it is the same node/device and it responds to ping.
This is the sample info for the old HA device for same zwave node:
And for the new HA device for same zwave node:
As you can see, they are the same zwave node #7. Blind controls are present only for the new HA device. Also, sensors work for the new HA device only. I disabled the old device manually given it is not usable.
Would like to know how this occurred in the first place, so I can avoid the issue in the future. Also, is there a way to clean up HA devices / entities, so there are no longer duplicates?
Setup:
- Zooz ZST39 LR controller, firmware v1.60, used without LR
- Z-Wave JS v0.27.0
- Z-Wave Driver version: 15.15.0
- Z-Wave Server version: 3.4.0
- Home Assistant OS v2025.12.5
