Which is better: Zwave GPIO Module or USB Stick on RPi3B+?
Signal quality for example.

I use an Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5 USB thing on Home Assistant. Being a USB perhipheral means that you can put it on the end of a USB extension cable to get it in a more favorable location, not tucked in between a bunch of other stuff. And I was handy when I moved it from the Mac Mini I first ran Home Assistant on to an Ubuntu NUC server and docker containers subsequently. I think a Raspberry Pi-specific bit if hardware wouldn’t flexible like this.
I dont currently use any zwave devices, however from a general system engineer point of view, I agree with @lmamakos.
Keeping radio devices away from the ‘noisy’ environment of computing kit and placing somewhere more favourable will probably serve you well in the long term. It is very unlikely that the position and orientation of the Pi will be optimal for your transceiver.
