Been using HA for about a year, need it to run some z-wave devices I still have. Has worked great for that time. Suddenly the Zwave JS seems to have stopped ‘polling’ my devices.
I can click and activate most items (not all). But the big thing is my automation will not work, like ‘if __ on for 10 minutes, then turn off’ Because the JS never gets an updated state of the device or devices. Also, I cannot ‘remove’ any zwave devices, because HA does not see the device when pressed locally on the device, so I can’t remove and re-add the device.
I have reloaded the JS Add on. I have rebooted.
Using the Aeotec USB dongle
Do the logs tell you anything useful? You might have a “jabbering” device that is clogging up the network, you could have a distance issue in your mesh or perhaps your dongle is going bad.
You could always back up your dongle, wipe it, then restore it and see if that helps.
If you had one device go bad then it could be messing up the mesh, making the other devices make more hops back to the dongle. If you are able, try to move a device (or the dongle) close to each other and see if the problem resolves - but remember that it may take some time for Z-Wave to redefine the path so not having an immediate resolution doesn’t necessarily mean there’s still something wrong, let it sit there for a day or two and see what happens.
