Zwave network heal takes too long .. and fails

I rebuild my Zwave network with a new dongle and have now 45 nodes in the network, also setting um Z-Wave JS UI (Zwave2MQTT) on the latest SW. Most of the devices are Zooz, Jasco and UltraPro switches and dimmers, with a few sensors.
HW: RPI4 with ZST10 dongle.

About 4 days ago I started the heal network process. The network topology is still flat (no wonder it loses connection to the most remote switches) and healing does not perform at all.
No hops, all Zwave devices are showing offline. I have not restarted my system yet, wondering, if I have made some user error,

Thanks for advice

First - dont ever run a full network heal unless oyu ahve a specific reason to. Also you will almost never have a reason to run a full network heal. It causes a LOT of traffic and takes forever to complete.

Restart ZWaveJSUI and see what comes back. If your ZWJSUI restart doesn’t cure your issue, pull the stick out, count to 60 then put it back in.

How is your stick connected to your Rpi?

Thanks Nathan, the stick is connected via 4ft USB extension cord. I will follow the advice.
So how do you optimize the network with the required hops then? I have the RPI in the basement and switches across 3 floors that I want to optimize for connectivity and performance.

Targeted heal, not everything all at once. Also realize the network knows things you don’t and don’t fret if a node isn’t going the way you want only worry if it’s not working or dropping off.

Thank you. Making progress after the restart now
