I want to clear all historical Zwave information out of my HASS.IO installation and start from scratch.
Are there any guides or tips on how to do that?

You could try factory resetting the zwave device, deleting the zwave contents inside entity_registry.yaml and deleting the zw*.xml files, that should about do it, not forgetting to reboot
