Zwave Water Leak Sensor Recommendations?

Hi,
Does anyone have recommendations for reliable water leak sensors? I tried the zooz ones but they keep going offline and fail to report a leak. I can barely get them to stay online and it also doesn’t report the battery back to my hub reliably.

Thanks

Aeotech works well for me

If they go offline they won’t report leak
Going offline sound like network issue. Why you think it’s device issue?

No, when I reset it then it works fine. But goes offline after like an hour and I have to manually wake it. My remote switch works fine.

Have you checked tx/rx/retransmit of device?

Battery >55%?
Under 55 and device communication get poor for some devices

A single device can have poor connection back to controller. In this case it will go offline and will also drain battery faster. You may be correct that your device has issue but currently this sounds more like guess. Replacing with another device may work but this may be no better than disconnecting and repairing your current(or individual device heal)

I recommend you check stats of the device and understand what it is currently doing. After that decide what to do. It’s your money/time however so do what’s best/easiest for you.

Just to give you another datapoint, I have seven Zooz zse42 water leak sensors, most for over 3 years now, and find them incredibly reliable. I love that they support direct association to close the zac36 water valve even if HA is offline. I test them 1-2 times a year and battery life is great; the two batteries I replaced last July still read 100% remaining.

The only issue I have noticed is that once in a long while, battery-powered devices will “forget” to go back to sleep after their twice-daily wake-up and check-in, which can cause the battery to drain faster. Ordinarily pressing the “ping” button entity puts it back to sleep. I’ve seen this more with Zooz wall buttons and Ecolink door sensors than with water sensors but find that a simple automation triggering on stale “awake” state typically resolves the issue without me having to intervene.
