Hello, i just got a new thermostat, went from a zigbee Tuya ts0601 to a Fibaro FGT-001 with an FGBRS-001 temperature sensor. I am completely new to using zwave and i have some problems with it. (using Me Z-Wave USB Stick).
Usually i would set the thermostat/climate entity to schedule mode, in order to have it work automatically. Also i would change the settings for temperatures throughout the day. Unlike the tuya variant Home Assistant doesn’t show an option for the fibaro thermostat to set the climate entity to schedule mode, only heating or off. Also it doesn’t show any option to change the temperatures for the schedule.
According to the manual, it does seem to have some sort of a schedule option: Fibaro manual
However, i can’t seem to set any schedule settings through Home Assistant. ZwaveJS also doesn’t say anything about it: ZwaveJs Supported Devices
Does anyone know if it is possible to start the schedule preset or change the schedule settings with ZwaveJS through Home Assistant, or is it only possible through the Fibaro App and is the solution to create a lot of automations?
I would presume that heat schedules are implemented via the Z-Wave Schedule Command Class. Node-zwave-js does not currently support this CC. See CC wish list.
The wishlist issue is for requests to implement command classes in the z-wave driver. The Schedule CC is supported by your thermostat, but not by the driver. The features screenshot is in reference to this CC.
Ah there does seem to be a request to add schedules in that list already, but it could take some time, thank you.
By the way, I have a strong feeling the thermostat sometimes turns to schedule mode automatically after a long time of heating. So this is fine for now, however the schedule settings aren’t very pleasant. (temperature for each time of day) is it possible with any direct command through zwave to alter this or is there an alternative to change this somehow?
I searched the whole manual but couldn’t find anything to change this on the knob itself, I hoped it could be changed through zwave.
And maybe is there a workaround to enable schedules directly too? I’m open for any alternatives.
I used Fibaro for more then ten years.
What they mean by “Supports heating schedules” is when you use the Fibaro controller you can setup your heatingpanel or schedule.
