ZXT-800 HVAC IR blaster polling interval

I installed a ZXT-800 IR blaster to control a mini split AC unit. It seems to work as advertised, except the update interval is very long (~7 hours). Which makes it mostly useless as a thermostat. Even though I have the settings to update every 1°C change and/or every 15 minutes (their shortest interval).

I asked the manufacturer, they’re putting the blame on the HomeAssistant zwave integration. As their iOS app (which communicates via BT with the device) shows temperature updates in real time.

Any suggestions to improve the polling time, I’ve tried a automation to ping the device every minute, to no avail.

What’s your ac model/brand? Another alternative is hooking up esp to directly control your mini split without relying on ir but that depends on your ac model if it’s supported

It’s not a huge deal. As I’ve got another temp sensor at the opposite side of the garage, so I’ll just average them out using a sensor group.
