0.91: More streaming, better Zigbee, cameras with ESPHome

I’m on 0.91.1, but the battery state sensor for my iPad with the iOS app installed still shows as Unplugged instead of Not Charging:

58

Am I misunderstood something about this?

give it another reboot, after i updated to 91.1, there were yeelight errors, rebooted, no more errors
worth a shot

Updated to 91.1 and lost access to 3 HomeKit iSwitch’s anyone have any ideas how to get them showing up again?

I seem to be having a strange issue where the buttons on the configuration page don’t load in a new page. They seem to load as a sort of frame in the page below. Anyone else seeing the same thing? I went from 0.86 to 0.91.1.

Do you have the Custom UI component installed? That’s what was identified to cause the behavior you’ve described back in version 0.90.

The Custom UI component was updated and, I can confirm, it eliminated the problem in 0.90 and in 0.91.

Thanks for this. It certainly looks like this is the issue.

Many thanks, it worked.

Do not say such comments without any evidence to support your assertions. There has been no evidence or announcement of deprecating Z-Wave. It has been frustrating that development on OZW has been stale, but does that doesn’t mean it’s being pulled out of Home Assistant.

What is the phrase to say to make a camera show on my Home Hub or Chromecast? Do I need to do anything in the cloud component? Referring to this release note:

  • Support to ask Google Assistant to show your camera on its display or on a Chromecast

Anyone having issues with “Login attempt or request with invalid authentication from 127.0.0.1”?

I’m getting hundreds of of these errors and can’t identify why. I thought it was nodered using the legacy Auth, which stopped the messages. But I’m now getting it again every few minutes.

Any ideas on how to isolate what’s causing this?

When I upgraded to 0.91.1, I had trusted sites under http. Removed those and made sure authentication is set to home assistants new method.

Am having the exact same problem with konnected. Each restart generates a new unique ID. Delecting the old entry from the entity registry gets it working again, until you restart and then new ones come along again.

Really frustrating!

so depending on your default player you can say “show me the camera” or “show me the camera on the den home hub” just sue the camera name and chromecast name.

I noticed that my Nvidia Shield will not accept voice commands however the camera.play_stream service call works as expected. The same exact command works on my google home hub.

My camera name in the config is “Upstairs Camera” and my Chromecast is “Upstairs TV”. I say "Show me “Upstairs Camera on Upstairs TV” and I just get something along the lines of “Sure, here are some results on Upstairs TV, which do you want to play?” It just shows some random Youtube security camera footage.

I just did a sync devices in the cloud component, but cant get it to work. Any thoughts?

did you make sure to include the camera in your configuration? do you see the camera in the google home app?

That did it. Nabu Case page is out of date and doesnt show camera as a valid entity type so I thought it would pass through somehow I guess.

Thanks.

Well, sort of works. It now says it streaming, but just shows a black screen with “Smart Home Camera” and never does anything. Using the updated Foscam component with cameras that stream OK in the Lovelace. Oh well, maybe itll work in the future. Thanks again.

try enabling the “preload stream” option when you play it in the front end and try again

same problem tell me please when it solved

I’ve got a bit of an issue happening. I’m running on Raspbian in a virtual environment and I’ve got an error when trying to upgrade from 0.90.2 to 0.91.1 I get the following error at the end and it reverts back to 0.90.2.

Could not install packages due to an EnvironmentError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/srv/homeassistant/lib/python3.5/site-packages/homeassistant/components/samsungtv/media_player.py'
Consider using the `--user` option or check the permissions.

Using the --user option doesn’t work. Says it’s not viable in this virtualenv.

permissions are as follows:

pi@raspberrypi:/srv/homeassistant/lib/python3.5/site-packages/homeassistant/components/samsungtv $ ls -lha
total 64K
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4.0K Apr 7 12:44 .
drwxr-xr-x 790 homeassistant nogroup 32K Apr 7 12:49 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 homeassistant nogroup 24K Feb 28 09:25 media_player.py

Does anyone have any ideas? I don’t use samsungtv as it doesn’t work with my TV.

UPDATE: I worked it out. The directory samsungtv was owned by root:root. Changed it to homeassistant:nogroup and the isntall worked.

Hi all,

I have cameras refresh issue since upgraded from 0.87.1 to 0.91.1. I am running Home assistant on Android tablet. When tablet disconnects temporally from network then have “Connection lost. Reconnecting…” When tablet again connect to network then my cameras stops refreshing images.
I was able to reproduce it with

  • Chrome, Fullykiosk
  • Generic camera, Foscam camera, Synology camera
  • My Android version is 7.1.1
    Thank you.Michal
