2021.3: My Oh My

Thanks. Rebooted and reinstalled supervisor. That worked a treat. Thanks

Okay, I know my samba and ssh passwords are “weak”, but I don’t care being this is all on my home LAN. So how do I turn off those warnings?

By changing the password

i Hope they dont remove those warnings.
HA should be commended for doing this, This form of checking in lots of applications should be performed.whether its local lan or not, just change passwords to something more secure.

This update fix the problem on fresh installations on debian ? I mean the never come back after system reboot or shutdown ?

No it does not. since the issue was not here.
Your issue is Docker 20.10.4, update it to 20.10.5 and reboot.

I know what does permament mean. But temporarily might mean for 10 minutes or till next HA restart etc. That’s why I’m asking.
If I can disable it forever - then it’s not temporary. Optionally would be more suitable word for such case.

Also AFAIK it’s not possible to disable/remove core integrations. So whar’s your point?

As for answer on question why I’d like to use it, see this link: https://github.com/home-assistant/frontend/issues/7707
I want to get rid of integration I’m not using at all but I’m forced by devs to taking actions everytime I’m adding a new Shelly device to my network. If they are not willing to fix that, I’m ok with disabling it. and tbh I will be greatful for this feature if working as I’m assuming. Is it satisfying answer?

Smooth update yet again. :+1:

The only issue I had was the Xiaomi Miio integration renaming my vacuum and needing to change all my scripts and automations that use the previous name.

Temporary as in you can turn it back on again, rather than delete and reinstall

I removed the HACS integration and the associated YAML config and it worked, however it is not accepting my V4 API key.

You didn’t need to do that mate. I just deleted the old entities and I could then rename the discovered ones to the old name (taking the _2 off the entity name)

Yeah, I was going to do that but I only had half a dozen things to change so it didn’t take long. More annoying that it need to be done at all rather than pulling the existing config over.

Yeah that is odd and not what they usually do.

Is there somewhere I can go for more info on the zwavejs updates? I’ve been running only the zwavejs2mqtt addon for a month, but since updating, the supervisor now seems to automatically install the zwavejs addon? I stop the container and it restarts on its own. I uninstall the container and it just pops back up like a zombie. Is this expected?

Both add-ons are now fighting over the controller, and I prefer the UI of the zwavejs2mqtt add-on.

The update unfortunately partly broke the Xiaomi Miio integration. :frowning:

The Xiaomi Miio integration has four modes available (auto, silent, favorite, idle) whereas the fan integration only got three (auto, favorite, idle). With the change from speed to preset_mode (speed gets noted as deprecated in the log), if you try to set the fan to silent, the script or automation throws an error and the script doesn’t execute…

EDIT: FYI it was fixed lightning fast in the next release, so this bug is already closed with the .1 version! Great work from the Devs here!

make sure to open a bug, all modes should be supported

It’s a good idea, but needs to be able to switched off or permanently dismissed. I’m not changing my LAN password just to accommodate overzealous checking in HA.
By all means, it should be enabled by default - especially for anything being accessed outside of the local network, but it shouldn’t be shoved down people’s throats if they want to leave it as is.

Like in a bunch of @frenck’s addons (at least it used to be the case - I assume that it still is) that checked against HIBP… That check was enabled by default, but could be switched off - and the doc recommended against it, understandably so…

Would it possible to have a check that tells you if updating is going to break anything? Having to read through release notes and breaking changes every time, is a bit tedious.

There’s an addon for that:

https://github.com/home-assistant/addons/blob/ad4dea47d8f793ad762420d13a3995f070f0df6e/check_config/README.md

In the add-on store:

You only need to read for the integrations you have installed, it’s not that bad. I have a fairly big HA config and this version only means one change for me. Easy.
