2023.1: Happy New Year of the voice!

Interesting, my Pi-Hole integration was working until 2023.1.0. I even removed it and now cannot re-add. Did I miss something in the prior release notes?

You probably need to update Pi-Hole (latest is 2022.12.1, which wasn’t working with Home Assistant until 2023.1).

Already have Pi-Hole 2022.12.1, so sadly that can’t be it.

Discovered that the Harmony Hub Integration is no longer working for me, the harmony conf file no longer has any devices or activities in it.

Great work! I can’t wait to have voice assistant working locally!
Regarding the new Reolink integration, I’ve tried it with my Wi-Fi doorbell and I can only see the camera entities but nothing else… I was expecting for a sensor when the button is pressed, is that in the works?
Thanks!

I’ll also report that the Pi-Hole integration seems to have broken with the upgrade to 2023.1.

Latest Pi-Hole is installed.

Pi-Hole Integration not working - Configuration - Home Assistant Community (home-assistant.io) looks like the issue to follow.

I’ve tested the official Reolink integration with RLC-520 and RLC-820A cameras, and the resulting camera entities appear to work fine (other than the main streams on the RLC-820As, although I suspect that’s due to issues with H.265).

This update seems to have wrecked my system. Only been using Home Assistant for a couple of weeks, so maybe I did something stupid, but I can’t work out how to go back.

After installing the update, restart took a long time, then I got a notification “Setup failed for custom integration ltss: Requirements for ltss not found: [‘geoalchemy2>=0.8,<0.9’]”

Not knowing what I else to do, I found the backup made before updating and clicked restore. When HA restarted, it had the same error about ltss.

So I went to look at configuration.yaml, but could not start studio code server. I tried installing the basic file editor add-on; it appeared to install, but cannot start.

So I went and restored last night’s backup. Same issues. (What are the backups for if they don’t work to restore the system?)

I guess when I get home I’ll wipe the system and start again, unless anyone can suggest a simple fix. I’ve only been running this instance since new year, so not a great loss (and I have the data up until I ran the update, assuming I can get a new install to connect to it).

But very keen to understand just what I did wrong.

I’m getting some significant latency across home assistant after updating. Pages load slower, and simple actions like turning on lights that used to be nearly instantaneous are taking several seconds. I tried rebooting but the issue persists. Running Hass OS on a Pi 4 on SSD. Any ideas?

Logs. Always logs.

What install type do you have? (there are four).

The error message seems to come from this custom integration, so ask the author on that github (post an issue there).

I don’t expect any issues. Upgrading from the beta right now.

It it now possible to use variables with the google SDK? This was possible with IFTTT before but never worked/possible in HA… Like example: add “choco” to the shopping list… HA should take the keyword “Choco” add use it in a service

I am having difficulty with Google Assistant SDK services. Logging indicates appropriate response, but without fulfillment of desired action (ie play music, broadcast message)?

2023-01-05 00:06:03.728 DEBUG (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.google_assistant_sdk.helpers] command: play music on main living area
response: Sorry, I can't do that yet.
2023-01-05 00:06:36.536 DEBUG (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.google_assistant_sdk.helpers] command: tell me a joke
response: Why can't a bicycle stand on its own?
It's two tired 😴 🚲
2023-01-05 00:22:33.509 DEBUG (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.google_assistant_sdk.helpers] command: broadcast Hello
response: OK. Broadcasting now.

(google assistant did not broadcast desired message on google speakers).

What’s the point of removing the update frequency from the speed test? Why force users to write an automation to accomplish something that was working perfectly?

Now how have more control of when the update takes place.

Hey Guys,
A very Happy new year to you all :tada::champagne:!!

I’m not sure if any of you know about any integration with Autopi; It would be something interesting to get all Our car Data inside HA, to build automation :slightly_smiling_face:

Best wishes,
Pratik

I have the same (lagging) plus DSMR reader stopped working. I checked the logs and only find these errors regarding DSMR.

2023-01-04 22:44:34.157 WARNING (MainThread) [dsmr_parser.clients.protocol] keep-alive check failed

I checked the logs, these errors start right after the update to 2023.1.0

It’s this integration

Why we need now an automation in Homeassistant 2023.1 to change the poll interval for speedtestdotnet integration, is this really an improvement?
speedtestdotnet dokumentation
Why not leave it as it was, in the integration??
I don´t need speedtest to run by default every 60 minutes without a simple way to change it?

Sometimes i really don´t understand why things that are good get removed

always after a buck up restore power down the system not restart home assistant, a hardware reboot is what I do. Especially as addons can start but still tell you to start them, I have only ever seen this behavour after a restore though.
