With mod_card and hui it should be possible. Fairly sure, you have posted this on your own already back some time.
Actually, it WAS NOT possible to style new 2024.8 badges with card-mod.
But it became possible with a bit hacked card-mod (was explained in card-mod thread).
Anyway, probably Marius wants to have a possibility to style new 2024.8 badges with a custom theme - i.e. properties for these badges should be covered by CSS variables.
Might be. But he wrote, that card mod cannot do it. And this is not the case anymore.
it was not my main point…even though we still can not (unless you would know how to, using the release version of card-mod v3.4.3, and not the hacked version)
my main point is, that the icons are too small for some people to be able to distinguish them, and my second point would be that I hope we would get the option to adjust that in HA Frontend natively (indeed, with a theme variable), and not have to rely on a compound set of custom cards which havent been updated in a long time)
@Lode1 That’s a good question, I had to “remind” myself of the answer:
Amcrest(1)*: Dahua integration
Reolink(2)*: yes, I’m using the Reolink integration
Tenvis(1): Generic Camera Integration
Unifi(1)*: Unifi Protect Integration
Wyze & Yi (9 total): all specified in configuration.yaml as platform: ffmpeg
…for example:
# Wyze V2 Front
- platform: ffmpeg
input: -rtsp_transport tcp -i rtsp://USERID:PASSWORD@IPADDRESS/live
name: Wyze Front
* I use camera specific integrations whenever I need access to “events” for building useful automations.
had a private chat with @arganto , and learned that it is possible to mod the badges after all, see 🔹 Card-mod - Add css styles to any lovelace card - #7453 by Mariusthvdb for further exploration as it’s off topic here…
thanks to @Ildar_Gabdullin too!
Anyone else having a problem with constant reboots about every 30min?
Previously with automations:
- Create a blueprint.
- Create an automation.
- Edit the blueprint.
- Reload automations.
- OK.
Now with template sensors:
- Create a blueprint.
- Create a template sensor.
- Edit the blueprint.
- Reload template sensors.
- We still use the old blueprint - have to reboot HA.
Really weird. Probably it depends on a particular change in a blueprint.
For instance, changing “conditions” → “condition” and then reloading templates does not reload a blueprint → still same error about “conditions” comes.
Issue here
Sad but seems that blueprints for sensors are buggy.
Another issue with a changed log:
after HA reboot still an old detailed log is shown for some period (a few minutes in my case).
issue
So, with another issue it became difficult to analyse a log. Although a Live Log is a really promising feature.
After update to 2024.11.03 → all start working as expected and all issues GONE…
Is this ‘Speedy camera’ thing meant to work with the Onvif integration? For me 2024.11.3 turned my two reasonably speedy to appear, cameras that showed a mostly smooth running video feed, into slow to appear static images. Running HAOS, I’ve held off updating this month after last months debacle, but risked it today, hoping unreasonably, that by now any bugs would be squished. This month 2024.11.3 lasted less than 5 minutes on my system before I was pretty much forced to restore 2024.10.4. I tried to get the webrtc thing to work last month, no joy, nothing worked, the ‘easy to use web UI server thing’ it was meant to install/need was anything but, and found no cameras to do anything with, nor could I see any way to add them. Any clues as to how to get the new Speedy Cameras to work? Do I need to use the generic camera integration instead of ONVIF? What incantations do I need to invoke? Is there a full list somewhere the default_config part of configuration.yaml contains, so I can try to disable just the new webrtc stuff? Any pointers as to what log entries to look for and where?
For me this new integrated webrtc is what used to be called a ‘Breaking Change’, so why is it essentially being forced onto users with apparently no easy way to disable it?
Sorry for the rant, just getting really frustrated with Home Assistant recently. I used to look forward to updates, now I just dread them, wondering all the time what will outrightly break, or what I’ll have to spend hours trying to figure out how to make work again.
Hoping someone can point me in a direction to begin problem solving. I can’t update past 2024.10.4.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the feedback, I have updated.
I noticed that the “.storage/core.config_entries” file has been formatted very confusingly since 2024.11.x.
At first I thought it was a mistake and reformatted the file into JSON. After a restart it becomes confusing again.
The same thing in a second instance of HA. After the update from 10.4 to 11.3 the formatting was lost there too.
Is this intentional? Or how can I go back to the old clear formatting?
up to version 2024.10.4
from version 2024.11.x
Anyway, this is an internal file & users are not supposed to deal with it…
I noticed this change much earlier.
I’m a bit confused by all the posts above and a bit hesitant to upgrade… If I want to continue using the 3rd party WebRTC integration, are there additional steps required in upgrading? I can’t see anything in the breaking changes section
I am also using Frigate which I assume is what’s providing go2rtc but it’s been years since I set it up… However I do see go2rtc-1.9.4 in the homeassistant directory
I’m running frigate separate (LXC in Proxmox) from HA using the WebRTC integration with custom:webrtc cards and have noticed no difference in stream speed or quality.
I do eventually want to use HA’s native WebRTC for remote viewing, just haven’t had the time to play with it yet. YMMV.
Please make energy/current available for LG ThinQ devices as this Custom integration.
I can monitor energy consumption for those devices that have support. New LG ThinQ integration don´t make energy consumption entities available.
Same here, I was using the RTSPtoWebRTC addon and my camera’s worked flawlessly.
Since version 2024.11 they don’t work or the streams are very laggy. I tried everything they advised me but no luck.
Please, delete this “build-in working straight out of the box” thing !!!
