Does anyone sell a power monitoring device that will handle a 32A circuit? I need this to monitor the power being used by my cooker. I don’t need to be able to turn it on and off, just measure the usage. A Tuya zigbee or WFi device would work well but I can’t find one bigger than 20A.
Thank you - Rowan
I use a dual CT clamp with tuya ZigBee monitor in my consumer unit for my oven and immersion heater. Works great
You could take a look at the Shelly EM
CT clamps are the way to go.
You do not want a device that sits inline with such a load.
Remember that CT clamps go on only the live wire, so you might need to open up the insulation of the wire.
If you have multiple live wires, like a 2-phase or 3-phase setup, then you need a device with a clamp per phase.
CT clamps come in closed and open versions.
The closed ones need you to cut the wire and put it through the clamp.
The open ones lets you open up the clamp, so the wire does not need to be cut, just separated from the other wires.
If I buy any clamp that doesn’t open, I surely return it… ![]()
Closed clamps should be more precise.
Maybe, but they are not clamps, just CT… ![]()
Oh!! That is of course true. ![]()
