What I want to achieve is that when I leave the house and my “away” automation runs, then HA should wake up the camera from privacy mode (where the camera is physically turned up inside the housing when I am at home) and start running ideally in “cruise” mode.
When I come home and my “back home” automation runs it should turn off the cam and set it back to the physical privacy mode.
Sounds simple. However I struggle with the simple fact that I was able to add the cam via HomeKit controller which allows to turn of the cam but not to put it into the real privacy mode (or wake it from it) which is a must for me when I am home.
Has anyone got the cam as well and implemented something like this? Or do we need to wait for another year or so until Matter finally arrives for cameras as well (not that Matter is actually already really available yet for anything )?
I was also thinking of putting the G3 privacy mode on when somebody at home. The moment we activate our HA alarm, then it should wake up the G3 and let it function as an alarm. Eventually backupped by some HA automations.
Yeah exactly. As I don’t find a way to expose the cam in HA properly I am stuck. I am exploring options to somehow trigger this outside HA with some automation ITTT etc. But so far have not found the solution.
I connected the camera to home kit and added an automation in HomeKit to turn the camera on and off when I come and go. The main issue is that it disables the camera and even puts it into sleep but it somehow keeps recording sound.
Home that Matter will be the solution here at some point in time.
yes i have…my question was has anyone attempted this based on the instructions. There looks to be a lot of gaps and incomplete explanations on how to do things to achieve a successful result…hence my question
No I have not yet attempted this. It looks like the instructions advise for firmware flashing of the device. Anything to do with firmware modification is a well-known thing that could potentially brick a device if not done correctly, hence my having questions prior to attempting this.
What is burpsuite, zapguide, aqarahome apk mod? I downloaded the Aquara apk mod, but what do i do with it?
How do i downgrade the firmware?
How does this affect future device upgrades? Will i not be able to update firmwares through the app anymore?
How does this affect other currently connected sensors?
I would say this readme guide needs to be easier to follow from end to end
step 1: do this
Step 2: do this
etc
The information is scattered and I’m not going to risk bricking my device over poorly written instructions.
Hi, you can ask on github or here directly to the creator.
The firmware mod is recommended for rtsp live video, to use the rest is not necessary.
This is the beauty of it: no modifications to the device are necessary.
The aqara mod application is used to find your values that you send in the POST method in the official app, then you can delete it without logging out, otherwise the values are expired.
That’s a garbage response. How would i know If i’ve never attempted it? You must be dutch. Only folks from Holland have i ever met that use winky faces after everything they say and stick with the thought process of ’ you don’t already know and therefore you can’t do it’. There are a few tools mentioned that i’ve never seen before hence why I’m asking for steps. I know what an apk is, but I want these instructions to tell me what i should do with it once i obtain it from the repo. Anyone can stand on a podium and say words, but if the words have no meaning to anyone else then you’re just babbling. Same goes for a github post… If the readme means something to you and no one else or a limited audience, then it’s just babble.
“Method 2 has few functions as I abandoned it.” This is why i ask questions before proceeding.
“This is the beauty of it: no modifications to the device are necessary.” the documentation disagrees with this statement as it suggests that the device be flashed. So, what is truth?
I’m not going to use nodered and if method 2 has been abandoned then conclusively this would never work anyway.
No, I’m not Dutch, I’m a European born in Germany. In my opinion it doesn’t even matter, where people are from, what race they are, or in what religion they believe.
I personally find it more than offending to bring right turned views into play, and it’s neither necessary, nor helpful.
As I see you don’t seem to share these values with me, I’m out of this, and you’re on my igno list.
In my eyes, you disqualified yourself for every other post in this forum, or anywhere else!
Have a nice life, and I sincerly hope you’re not allowed to vote in your country.
@shredder_guitarist If he continues to offend without valid reason I am forced to report you.
What has been written is the truth, it is written for beginners and if you don’t understand it it is not for you.
You still fail to understand that firmware flash is for video only.
