Great idea was to create the template sensor in the helpers, it would be nice to be able to change the sensor icon based on the result of the template (icon_template). This would allow me to manage all the sensors’ yaml code via GUI.

and please directly extend with the remaining config options that are present in yaml.
Attributes being the most important for me. But availability template would be nice too. Triggers would be the icing of the cake

I was about to log this because I’m transitioning all my template sensors from YAML to this new functionality. It would be great if it could match the capabilities that are achievable with YAML.

+1 I was shocked that this was not the case.
this would be amazing! i spent days trying to get the icons to change based on a sensor. Dont want to create a hole duplication and condition for this to work
