Any Yale Conexis + Zwave users here?

You apparently can add cards without using the app - see my post above on 12 Feb. It sounds like it would be a pain though.

Agreed, looks very much like they have made it deliberately difficult to stay with the ZWave module.

I have the new wifi module ready to go to ā€˜updateā€™, but I do plan on reverting to the zwave module as it has been about the most rock solid thing in my house

Just to confirm - on fw update some are losing the lift to lock functionality - does this mean if this happens you canā€™t lock the door? This is my biggest worry, most technical tings I can work through, but this seems a show stopper to me

Just did the update myself and all went quite smoothly.

  1. Batteries out
  2. Z-wave module replaced with new Home module
  3. Load new app and register
  4. Batteries back in
  5. Register lock in app using QR code
  6. Update lock firmware - This took some time.
  7. Register all my fobs, card and tags
  8. Batteries out
  9. Yale Home module replaced with Z-wave module
  10. Batteries back in.

All I would note is that the process is more aimed at lock modules that are not lift to lock, so when I could hear the lock motor running I lifted the handle or opened the door, depending on if it was locking or unlocking.

All good.

Ive recently been having stability issues after having zwave in for a few years, it says unavailable more often than not now, so therefore debating taking up the offer of the new wifi module, but without the bridge it cannot be used remotelyā€¦ and there isnt a home assistant integration no?

Its my only zwave device i own, so not tied into using zwave at all. I have around 30 zigbee devices.

There is a HA integration via bluetooth with the new access module.

However, it depends on:

  1. Is your HA server within bluetooth range of the lock (or you could use a Bluetooth gateway if not)

  2. Being able to retrieve the Offline Key and Slot details, required to configure the bluetooth connection.

I have ā€œupgradedā€ from Zwave to the new Access Module and Wifi Bridge, but have not been able to work out how to get the Offline Key and Slot details to configure the bluetooth integration.

Ignore, the above.

I managed to get the August Integration working using some old credentials I had for the Yale Access app (different from the ones I am using for yale home app)

Yale Access Bluetooth is now working.

So even with this wifi bridge there is no cloud integration that makes use of the wifi bridge?

My server is in the loft, i dont have bluetooth connectivity at all in my HA.

Since I donā€™t have a z-wave module directly plugged into HA, I pull the lock in through Samsung SmartThings using itā€™s z-wave.

Any ideas if this is likely to go pop? Would it be worth getting a z-wave dongle for HA and continuing with the z-wave module, or do I bite the bullet and go with the new Yale moduleā€¦ Ugh redundancy is a drag!

So how have people been finding the BLE status reporting when using a BLE proxy? I find the lock doesnā€™t report unlocking to HA when using the thumb screw to manual unlock, even though I have ā€˜Always Connectedā€™ enable on Yale integration. If I unlock via HA the status then updates in HA, but surprisingly the DoorSense does update in HA when manual unlock/door open - not fantastic though if someone unlocks the door but doesnā€™t open the door.

For completeness, I am using an Everything Presence One with BLE enabled (with firmware 1.3.5b and ESP Home 2024.2.2 ) as the proxy device - guess this could be the problem for no status update?

I wish Iā€™d seen this discussion 24hrs ago, I would have saved myself hours of messing around with the door lock.

I have been using a Zwave module with my L1 for a good year now with zero problems until I decided to use the new Yale upgrade module.

All seemed to go well, the firmware update went on as expected, the app linked to the lock and was working fine. However couldnā€™t get my Yale MasterCard to work nor add any fobsā€¦grrr.

Put my Zwave module back in, quickly realising autolock no longer functioned and neither did lift to lock.

Anyway moved on thinking there was possibly something in the app that needed activating. Put the new orange module back in, added the HA Yale/August integration and and got the lock working in HA via Bluetooth, thinking I can live with this change. Sadly even with the ā€˜keep connectedā€™ option ticked I lost control of the lock after about an hour and couldnā€™t get it to reinitialise anymore.

Went to bed thoroughly peeā€™d off with Yale thinking my lock is stuffed and Iā€™m going to have to kick off at Yale after the Easter break.

This morning I decided to do a full factory reset of the lock. Iā€™ve managed to get my Yale MasterCard added along with 3 keyring fobs and put the Zwave module back in and paired back up to Ha. Thankfully all is back to normal, lift to lock is working as is autolock.

Note to self, donā€™t buy a Yale upgrade again.

@SimonC6 did you do the factory reset from the Yale app or direct on the lock?

Full reset by disconnecting the wire inside, putting the batteries back in and holding down the R button before resembling.

Recieved my yale module and wifi bridge, before i bother playing, this loses lock to lift from reading previous posts? That is one of the best features of the lock, how do i lock otherwise?

The ā€œlift to lockā€ function wonā€™t operate if the lock is somehow not happy with itā€™s settings, or is in an unknown state. For example, when you first install it, before youā€™ve ā€œhandedā€ the lock (left or right), it wonā€™t lock. I guess itā€™s a safety thing, to prevent you getting locked out of your house with no way to open the door if something went wrong during install.
I have found Iā€™ve induced this, when fiddling around with settings, plugging in/removing the z-wave module without first removing the batteries etc. A full reset (including removing the handle and unplugging the cable to the other handle) has always restored lift-to-lock.
I havenā€™t ā€˜upgradedā€™ yet, but I believe others who have on here have all eventually restored lift-to-lock. It seems the one function that /does/ get disabled is the internal bluetooth, which you currently turn on by touching the black part of the outside handle.

I had no issues with lift to lock after the update. See my post above for the process I used.

Took an age to get everything working after install. Key fobs wouldnt add and lift to lock wouldnt work. Firmware failed to install and so on. All working again now though finally. Seems fairly responsive too.

Could anyone check if they have all activities logged via the api? I constantly miss events when people unlock the door with their cards/fobs and itā€™s driving me mad  The are all in the timeline of the app so I am not sure what is going on here :man_shrugging:t4:

Hi, just discovered this thread /group while researching about the migration that Yale want us to do with the Conexis.
I too, got an email about migration, and thought Iā€™d go ahead and order the migration pack including the bridge and paid for the order.
However a few days later I noticed a refund in my bank, but not full amount, they just took the 4.99.
So obviously they are just sending me the module for inside the lock.
Anybody have similar issues?
Iā€™m wondering if it because Iā€™m in Ireland?
Anyhow, after reading the issues others are having, Iā€™m thinking of just staying as I am, using fobs etc.
Maybe getting a zwave module instead?
All help greatly appreciated, Mark.

@siwilson with the old zwave module back in the lock, when someone uses the thumbturn on the door lock does the HA status update to say the lock is unlocked? I bought a Zooz ZST10-700 USB stick recently and the zwave module - got it all to pair up today and I can unlock form HA however if someone manually uses the thumbturn on the lock the HA status doesnt update. Just wondering if you or anyone else gets the same behaviour?
