App Keeps Resetting to Overview Dashboard

I have an annoying issue where the app keeps changing to the Overview Dashboard even though I have the Overview Dashboard hidden and a different dashboard set as the default within the app. I haven’t been able to pinpoint when it happens, seems like any time the network changes, but it also seems random.

The problem is that it’s happening way too often and my Overview dashboard is useless to me. In addition, I have other users that I have “locked” into their own dashboards for ease of use (elderly parents) and theirs keeps getting reset to the Overview dashboard all the time and they don’t know how to change it back.

Is there something I’m missing here settings wise or is this just a long standing bug?

Im having the same issue. I set my wife’s iPhone with home assistant app, configured her account as non admin, and set a custom dashboard for her which is easy to use. But from time to time it reverts back to the default one which confuses her, and she doesn’t know how to go back to the custom dashboard. This happens on my iPhone too and it’s really annoying.

Honestly I don’t understand why you can’t simply disable the default dashboard globally. It’s totally useless to me.

Same here, not spouse friendly at all! Any solutions yet for making ios app user settings stick?

Still happening and like a previous user said, not spouse or elderly parent friendly at all.

And me. I find (on Android) when the app has been closed in the background (by the OS, not me) and has to start from scratch, it opens on the Overview dashboard, even that one is disabled. If the app is running in the background and is just brought to the front when I open it, then it shows whatever dashboard was last in use.

Same here. I’ve got my preferred dashboard set as default, and it still happens. Same with my theme settings.

I’m just shocked that this appears to have been going on for at least a couple years, affecting so many users, and there has not been a fix.

Add me to the list. It also resets the theme to custom if you have a different one in use. Especially annoying when you use Minimalist.

Is there an issue on GitHub open already?

Same her. CLEAN install this past week to just clean things up. Now, it defaults to Overview on every device even when I change the settings in the user. The dashboard screen shows another dashboard as default but it still won’t accept the changes. Developers: Please Please just let us hide the damn overview dashboard from everyone!!!

Same here on all my iOS devices.

It’s very annoying. I have now created four buttons in my default dashboard that link to the other dashboards. That’s not a good solution either. At least family members can use the app.

Is there any way to escalate this? Somehow everyone seems to be affected.

Adding to this list probably doesn’t help anyone, but I’m having the same issue but it resets other settings like my colour preferences etc. when I get a chance I’m going to setup a seperate user just for my phone and test it but based on other people’s replies I don’t think it’s going to help.

+1 This has been an issue forever. I just want it to honor the defaults :frowning:
