Yes, you can integrate it with HA using a hub and Matter. It reports status, battery and you can lock/unlock.
And with that setup, can you still use Home Keys, codes, etc?
Yes, HomeKey still works and you can use HomeKit to add codes or the Aqara app.
I have installed D100 on my door. Can you tell me, how to integrate it to HA?
Thanks in advance.
This is a very useful thread, thanks OP. Are there any other smart lock products (deadbolt or doorknob) that integrate well with HA + Zigbee2MQTT?
I hate to add what might be useless information to an already long thread, but I was following the guide posted here to add this lock to HA using the M2 Hub via Matter and something curious happened.
When I went to bind my door lock to the Aqara M2 Hub over zigbee it would fail over and over and then I remembered that my I accidentally left my zigbee2mqtt on “Permit Join All”, so I went and looked and sure enough the lock was binding itself to my existing zigbee network via z2m instead of to the Aqara hub.
Now it says “unsupported” in z2m, but I’ve been able to add support for other zigbee devices that z2m said weren’t supported fairly easily. Did I stumble onto something that would be useful for this device or has someone already been down this road?
[Edit] Looks like this is already known according to this thread on z2m, I just didn’t have to cut the power to my device when it started pairing for it to prefer my z2m zigbee network over the hub. Will keep following for more updates
Worked for me… thanks! (M2 hub)
Still no way of connecting without using the Aqara M2 hub?
such a shame looks like a good lock.
can anyone recommend a zigbee lock like this that works with most zigbee hubs?
i got lockly locks but i am finding them to be quite buggy (read app reviews)
Following because I am also looking for a look with all these features: Apple home key, finger print, key pad (for guests), zigbee (to integrate with HA). This looked so promising but got quickly disappointed to find out that there is no z2m integration…
I haven’t received my order of U100 yet, but cann’t we use HomeKit Device integration to port all HomeKit devices into HA? I have 150 devices added into HA this way.
To be fair this not “once again.” It’s a lock. I wouldn’t use a lock that is not encrypted. Don’t expect to be able to add it to z2m in the future either.
Just ordered this, delivery sometime later today and hope to install sometime this week without following any of the instructions/tips posted here in the forum.
If I find an easier way to get everything working, I’ll post an update and likely a link to another thread that isn’t so random or convoluted.
No. Guess locks aren’t supported (probably because of encryption, same as direct Zigbee)
I ended up with Matter integration to add U100 lock into HA. Works pretty smooth.
Could you tell me how you integrated them using Matter? I had nothing but issues and can’t seem to get events using that integration. Homekit works a little better but unreliable. I have Home Assistant Yellow btw.
I am not sure which below is critical:
I have Aqara M2 hub (also support matter)
I added both lock and hub through mobile homeassistant App, not desktop browser
Setting->Devices/Services->Matter->Add Device-> Scan matter code or put your phone close to lock/hub
IMO, the hub is 100% required to make this lock work well even with Homekit - otherwise the lock status doesn’t update unless your phone is near the door and manipulating from the phone can be very slow to respond. And of course the hub is the only way to get the lock into Home Assistant.
The issue with using a hub and Homekit is that you get two locks. One with the direct Bluetooth connection and poor status updates and slow response, and another with real-time updates and fast response over the network using the hub.
The first one is the only one with Home Key support however. Hopefully iOS17 adds Home Key over Matter by the end of the year (as outlined in the iOS 17 features page at Apple’s site)
I don’t have the problem you mentioned above. I added U100 to Home directly (but I forgot Homekit or matter). With hub the connection is through Wifi.
I think matter protocol allows multiple admins (one from Home app, one from HA using Matter server).
In HA, I filter lock instance of U100 from exposing to Home app again, of course
Its interesting that nobody is considering that the Aqara Hub requires internet access at startup to work properly. Hence, even though the U100 works offline with HomeKit and Matter (Home Assistant), it won’t do so if the Hub is restarted while being offline. I returned two locks because of this issue.
