Area not showing up in dashboard

Hi all,

I use the standard default dashboard - happy with it - and now wanted to see CPU temp and RAM usage from the System Monitoring integration on it.
(Maybe some more in the future, but tried those two metrics as a start)

So I created an area “System” and put in the area for the two entities (see screenshot at the bottom).

I am using the default automatic dashboard but the area is not showing up :frowning:

Although in the top right dashboard dialog (Edit dashboard) “All areas” is selected and the area “System” is also listed and not hidden (eye icon):

:grey_question:

  • Any idea why the area does not show up?
  • Maybe it is not possible what I am trying to do?

I checked the doc, but could not find an answer there  Dashboards - Home Assistant

Big thank you in advance and sorry if this is a dumb question

It may be that those entities are classified as Diagnostic, which I don’t think are included by default in the default dashboard.

If you look at the device page for where they come from you can see if they appear under the Diagnostic heading.

Thank you very much, yes you are right, they are diagnostic.
This helped me now to do somer further search and I will try to add them either via helpers or via this:

(although that also seems not to work for me, getting this error, but will try to work that out):

You need to take control of a dashboard if you want to add things to it, autogenerated ones can’t have anything added to it.

Thank you very much :+1:
Yes I like the automatic one and do not want to maintain a manual one, I found this comment and successfully added it now via a group sensor helper  :+1:
