I just tried to set up the “Microphone Sensor” in HA. I’ve activated the “Microphone Sensor” in the Ariela app, so far …
If I put the hook on “Mobile App” or on “MQTT” now the app crashes. I did this on two Android smartphones and one Android tablet, it always crashed the app. I send you the system logs from the Android devices as feedback on the “Play Store”.
Hello, just activated the “Debug Mode” and sent you the logs again.
On my Nokia smartphone was also a soft cracking hear when the error message was displayed …
Pretty sure its a me problem… but i cannot get the Device tracker to enable anymore… If i go into settings > Device tracker and enable device tracker, and then make sure the mobile app device tracker is enabled, leave back to the UI and come back, its disabled again. Anything in particular i should look at to see if i can determine why the device tracker will not stay enabled?
Hello lonut, thank you very much for the update, the Microphone Sensor runs without the smartphone crashes, great. The status of “silnce” and “clap detected” is also correctly recognized and displayed. Thank you again. Will soon create an automation. Yeah !!!
Hello @Ionut,
I have been testing this app on and off for a long time and checking its progress.
I am impressed with the developer and his enthusiasm for the project. Everytime I test this I always go back to the Lovelace UI on Hass-Launcher. But it has no ability to act as a device tracker or send sensor values.
With the progress of Lovelace and the effort myself and others are putting in to it to get our HA look just the way I want it to look, what we need IMHO is an app that loads the Lovelace as is.
I know I can get Ariela to load Lovelace UI, but It always feels as an after thought. Swiping left and right does not work. Could not get the CCH to work. Could not swipe on the tabs. Wrong tab highlighted etc
I think Ariela has almost all the major features we need from an HA android app and more.
What it lacks is polish. Ariela feeling more like Old Microsoft Office with too many options and features which we never use. @Ionut trying to chase every custom cards is never going to end and he will always be two steps behind from the bleeding edge. Instead if he tries to support Lovelace more and make it the default Ariela will be a serious contender for “The HA Android App”. Lets be honest, the native view in Ariela is “Ugly” and has no/limited customization options other than few themes.
I urge @Ionut to consider changing the app to shift its focus to Lovelace while keeping the good bits such as the device tracker and the ability to send sensor values.
Anyway this is not in anyways devaluing Ionut’s efforts. Thank you for your fantastic app.
Is there any way to remove the Ariel’s loading screen so that those of us who use the web based hi get immediately through to our frontend. At the moment, it’s not as quick as having a chrome shortcut on my home screen
Can you disable pull down refresh on the map please? It doesn’t play nice with using it on a phone.
The shortcut to push notification features doesn’t work for me.
Will disabling permanent notification cause any issues when app is ran as background or Application?
For now there isn’t since Ariela will try also to connect in order send sensors info. What i can do is loading the web ui immediately and do not wait for websocket connection.
Can you explain this a little more?
Same for this.
You can disable the notification from Settings → Apps → Ariela → notifications. Be sure you allow background activity for Ariela and you should be ok.
Using pinch in/out finger gestures causes the app to refresh rather than navigating the app.morover, trying to go north on the map by pulling finger down also causes the map to refresh.
“Push Notification Setting” just causes the app to blink. It doesn’t navigate away to android settings
I know I can disable pull to refresh but it’s a useful feature and I want to keep it. I just want it disabled when using the app if that’s possible.
Also, I still can’t seem to send push notifications with “Home Assistant”. It doesn’t like the space between the words - it’s fine if there’s an underscore or hyphen.
I have a GearS3 and like to receive notifications from my phone onto my watch. I can set a customised icon for notifications but the default Ariel’s icon still shows on my watch - I would like the customised icon to be passed through to my watch.
The default notification icon is an “i” in a circle - can it be the default Home Assistant icon?
