AU complaint light switches

Hello, I am looking for some AU complaint light switches for use with ESPHome, I have noticed that the deta switches from bunnings no longer use a esp chip.

Are there any alternatives out there that are still complaint ?

I have been looking at the Athom variants, But its hard to tell if they are OK for use in Aus.

There’s a mega-topic here you could search:

Ahh yep, I’ve been reading that one, It raises a few more questions then answers.

The gist I am getting is No, Nothing AU certified that runs a ESP is available, Grab a deta and replace the chip or buy a shelly.

Unless I am missing a single post out of the thousands on that thread ?

Actually buy a Shelly is your safest bet.

I did see mention of these, https://www.amazon.com.au/smartsetup-Homekit-Certified-Smart-Switch/dp/B0B72RCXHW/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=SmartSetup&qid=1678078020&sr=8-5&th=1

However there is no mention of AU certification in the listing…

I have found reference to a list here, AU Devices

However basically every one you open has the warning " New Tuya devices have replaced their Wi-Fi module with one incompatible with Tasmota!!!
Tuya-Convert might not be possible for this device since the template was added (2022-04-02)."

Its starting to feel like a real crab shoot as to if you will score a device with a ESP chip or not or if it will work or not.

I have encountered this kind of convolution in other fields, I was not expecting it to be this bad in home automation !
