Has it had a dimmer there in the past? Those smart dimmers look much the same depth as a regular one. In the past I’ve been able to drill out the hole deeper but your situation may be different.
Still after certified thread devices that work well in HA. Is there a list yet (like the zigbee blakadder)? thanks
If they can’t have extra room made they can get a buffer plate and just use longer screws to have them secured in place by the electrician.
Second issue. Wall plates, mounting blocks etc for retrofitting Shelly wall displays and switches into cutouts and housings already previously installed in the Australian market. 3D prints etc ? Anybody got a good source? Link? thanks!
Those displays look pretty great, but definitely need a neat way to fit them to standard Aussie light switches
If they have a European (60mm) back, that’s hard since that won’t fit through a standard stud-mounted bracket. I did a surface mount adapter for a Guition 4" display/switch - it might work for the Shelly as well.
What is this? A 3D print? thanks
Yes, I can share the files if you want. Done in Fusion.
I’ve got HA GUI running on a Shelly Wall Display. This is now supported by Shelly in a new beta. This is big big news for us as Aussies using the HA ecosystem. As Shelly is well supported by HA and their devices are electrically certified for hardwired use in Australia. So Sure. How do I get the file? thanks
I’ll post a link here later today or tomorrow, whenever I’m back at my computer.
Hi,
I’m looking for a reliable remote control 15A power control device. I have a woodworking shop and have just bought a swanky dust collection system. I want to be able to remotely turn this on when using one of the other connected machines. I have seen some that have a small RF button. Wondering if anyone has a similar setup to recommend a product.
Pat
You would be looking at a smart plug that fits your needs or a smart relay that goes behind the power socket in the place where it will always be connected to if you don’t use a smart power socket directly that also supports power monitoring to be combined with other machines in the workshop where its used at the time.
An automation you can setup for example is when the current for another machine matches a set threshold then it can turn on automatically or use a smart button for manual power toggle of it when not using your phone/smartwatch.
Aeotec heavy duty switch will do it for you. Then you can automate off of other devices or use a wireless remote to switch it.
Dave
The Aeotec looks pretty solid. I’ll look a bit more into it.

Besides directly pairing Clipsal Dimmers via MQTT on HA, is there any way you can bridge the Wiser Hub into HA?
I’m thinking of this approach primarily because it may be easier for family members to use + fail safe. Can’t seem to find any integration that applies for our switches (there’s a Wiser integration on HACS but that seems primarily for heaters, thermostats etc). Appreciate any advice!
It says it supports lights.
However it also says it is for the European version of the Hub. So no idea if that works with the AU version.
Personally I use Zigbee2MQTT direct to the devices.
You should be able to make a simple dashboard for your family members. Use the new tile cards and it will look a lot like every other app.
Thanks and save a ton without the wiser hub.
Are you using the conbee? I’m considering getting a PoE one since i’m just building it up.
Has anyone noticed Ikuu dimmmer switch mechanism makes high frequency sound. I like their products but I’m really unhappy with dimmer making high frequency sound. Apparently with switch and dimmer mechanism built in one has this issue. Any solution… acoustic barrier?
This one ?
Maybe I’m lucky, but I don’t have this issue with the one I have
