It was. I set it to 60 something and turned it off. The automation turned it back on at 5%.

I’m using ZHA with a Sky connect dongle.

I’ve had zero issues with the ikuu since I put it in around 2 years ago.

I plan to switch the Shelly dimmers out with these as they fail ( three so far ).

You’ve had 3 fail out of how many?

There are so many recommendations for the Shelly, but I’m worried about space in the switch boxes. I reckon I’d struggle to get two of them into a box along with the switch mechanisms

Six

Two were gen 1 dimmers that failed completely. I replaced one with a gen 2, the other with the ikuu dimmer.
The third is a gen 2 that no longer connects to wifi but is still operational via the attached push button.

I’ve tried rebooting it and checked to make sure it hasn’t just gone back to access point mode. It hasn’t.
Its only still in service due to my reluctance to get back in the roof and replace it :sob:

My high failure rate may be due to the fact that mine are installed in the roof space and are more affected by heat than others that may be installed in a wall cavity.

Edit: fat fingers on a phone keyboard.

Z2m with the slzb06…I also have the rotary dimmers.

Thanks mate. Same setup as me, except I’m running the single button dimmer. I have a rotary on the way already, so I’ll see if it’s just the single button version causing me grief.

It also has very audible coil whine. Maybe I got a dud.

Hopefully it fixes itself. How many have you got

I would love if it’s supported transition time.

I’ve just got the one installed, but have a second one ready to go in if I liked the first… But… Yeah. Maybe I should swap them to see if it’s just an issue with that unit.

Bit of an odd one that transition time is ignored. I quite like the default transition already so I never played around with it.

I’ve also seen these coming soon - ZigBee Knob Smart Dimmer, Smart Home Automation Australia

Tentative price is about $60

i was told that the ikuu zigbee line is being discontinued from a locally reseller. i guess not enough nerds like us

yeah the default trans is pretty quick i find but i like longer ones at night mode etc.

Had an old BL20925 die

Went looking for plugs with energy monitoring preferring Zigbee or Tasmota and found out Ikea are bringing their Inspelning plugs to Australia next month

Too damn wide.

Ahh goddamnit Mr Noodle!

What’s the current recommendation for energy monitoring side by side? Looks like the Arlec PC191’s are now series 3 and don’t work with cloud cutter

Aeotec… but $$$

IDK. I have non-certified zigbee plugs from Aliexpress that I found out switch the neutral rather than the active line. I found this out the easy way fortunately.

Oooh ! Thanks for the link. They’re tiny compared to the ikuu

I wonder if they’d fit in an architrave?
Also no mention if they act as repeaters.

If yes to both of the above I’d be tempted to grab half a dozen and replace all my Shelly dimmers.

I’d ask OZ smart, but from previous experience, they’d have no idea.

Look to be special order only.

As long as you have plenty of depth available they will fit.

I seriously doubt it because:

  • Neutral-Free Wiring: Simplified installation process without the need for a neutral wire.

Which usually means no repeater function.

Strangely, my ikuu dimmer which is wired with no neutral, at least according to my ZigBee visualisation, has two other devices hanging off it.

Might have to suck it and see.

The Clipsal Wiser no neutral dimmer pucks are repeaters.

They’re shit dimmers though.

Had nothing but trouble with them (flickering lights, falling off the network, forgetting settings, etc… even with their load correction device). Changed to the dimmer mechs that do have a neutral and they have been perfect.

With Series 3 you need to pry them open to convert to esphome. I did one just to test but suspect too much effort for most. I doubt I’ll buy any more.

Couldn’t help myself.

Oz Smart Things say they do act as routers, but I’ll take that with a grain of salt.

Price is $59.99 and will be in stock tomorrow.

I’ll take sparkydave’s advice and measure the depth of the pocket in my architraves. If it looks like a good fit I’ll place an order.

Yesterday he told me 2-4 weeks away! Let me know how they work out. They look decent, hopefully they function well.

A shame the ikuu line are going to be discontinued, I was looking at picking up some more if my test rotary works well

Edit: they’re available to order now, I couldn’t help myself
