Well, it might be rated at 16A, but it’s not up to passing 15A continuously. Firstly the terminals are tiny, it’s a struggle getting 2.5mm cable into them, and with 15A flowing the internal temperature climbed to over 80C within 15 minutes, at which point the overtemperature trigger shut it off.

I have an alternative on order, rated at 20A, so hopefully it will cope with 15A continuous.

Hey guys, with Black Friday deals happening I was wondering if there are any zigbee repeaters that people use that they can recommend? My zigbee devices aren’t working well at all, and I think I need more zigbee repeaters, so thought if any go on sale it could be good to get something. At the moment I’ve got a Skyconnect as my coordinator, and I’ve got some aqara door sensors in the garage, as well as 3 Ikea Tradfri bulbs outside the garage. I’ve also got a single tradfri signal repeater (similar to this, but my version is a plug with a secondary section that’s been plugged into the main section - maybe I’ve got an old version of the one on the website?)

I’ve been having a lot of issues with devices not responding, showing up as unavailable and just overall not working, so hoping at least another repeater or two will fix it, but I don’t know what to get. I don’t need any more smart bulbs, so I don’t need any more of those, but if anyone has any good repeater suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced!

Just buy some certified Zigbee GPO “plugs”. I use those. They act as repeaters as well. The ones from ozsmartthings…

Are you able to link those by chance? I’m having a bit of trouble finding them online

IKEA smart plug will also do the repeater job for $12.

Nice !

I know it’s asking a bit much for $12, but does anyone know if it does power monitoring ?

Doing a quick lookup there is a post on the homey forums that states the ikea one listed does not do power monitoring.

If you need it then I suggest the OZv2 plug as listed above, I have a few of them and they have been working without issue since feb. The only downside to them is the size so plan where you intend to use them.

No

There’s a new IKEA plug coming, Inspelning. AU$15. They have power monitoring, which seems to work in ZHA and Z2M.

Resistive: Max. 2400 W 10 A
Motor: Max. 300 W

Thats an awesome price. Hopefully more reliable than the IKEA lights. I have a couple of IKEA ZigBee GU10’s and they have a habit of going ‘unavailable’ and needing to be power cycled.

Yeah I’ve been keeping an eye on the stock levels. They’re basically made of unobtanium at the moment. Especially if you want delivery to areas with no store.
